Destination: San Francisco Bay Area
San Francisco is a visitor’s paradise when it comes to dining
options and tourist attractions. Enjoy a walk across the Golden Gate
Bridge to soak in the invigorating sea air and breathtaking scenery.
Hear the clanging bells as you and the locals take a leisurely cable
car ride through the Financial District. Drop by Fisherman’s Wharf
to sample various seafood delights that include fresh oysters and succulent
crabs.
Visit the famous Painted Ladies—Victorian houses that line historic
Alamo Plaza against the backdrop of our modern San Francisco skyline.
The Painted Ladies are considered classic San Francisco, built in the
style reflective of the last half of the nineteenth century. Many of
these houses were destroyed in the great fire that followed the 1906
earthquake. Fortunately, these and thousands of other elegant homes
still grace numerous neighborhoods in the city.
Take a walking tour through historic Chinatown with ties and traditions
that date back to the 1940s’ Gold Rush era. Then enjoy piping
hot barbecue pork buns at any of the local bakeries and sample the savory
Cantonese cuisine at the popular R&G Lounge, where salt and pepper
shrimp and steamed sea bass are among the locals’ favorite dishes.
If you want to work off those delicious meals, take a short hike through
San Francisco’s Land End. Here you will be treated to a hidden
view of the coastline and the Golden Gate Bridge. Rest your weary feet
and take tea at the nearby California Legion of Honor. This neo-classical
museum is well known for its European arts and its extensive collection
of August Rodin’s sculptures, including The Thinker.
After long days of window shopping and sight-seeing, rediscover your
inner tranquility by spending a day at one of the area’s restful
spa centers. The delightfully modern Sen Spa, tucked in the San Francisco
Presidio, or the restorative Kabuki Springs in Japantown, are two of
our popular offerings.
With so much more to see and experience—fine dining in the city, kayaking under the moonlight in Sausalito, enjoying a leisurely Sunday at Opera in the Park—you’re sure to plan a return trip to San Francisco. Benchmark Destinations will be there to ensure that you receive the best service while enjoying an unforgettable experience.
